Christiaan and Mieke both grew up in Pretoria on a plot. They both attended Donkerhoek Primary School. Christiaan went to John Vorster High till standard 8, after that he started working for his father in the steel construction business and was one of the youngest persons to ever work as a contractor on the mines. In 2010 he stated his own steel construction business and was one of the top contractors in Cullinan Mine for the underground projects. Mieke on the other hand did home schooling and finished at the age of 17. She had been dancing from the age of 4 and completed all her courses and did her teachers in Freestyle, she had her own dance school in Pretoria. Mieke and Christiaan got married in 2012 and Mieke started to work in the office for Christiaan. They had always had a great passion for the outdoors and farm life. In 2015 when they bought their farm Weltevreden River Ranch they were excited to start their new journey. They closed the steel construction business Janel in 2019 and started to work and stay permanently on the farm. The Brahmans is a great pleasure to work with.

We aim to breed Line Bred Brahmans with more bone and meat, better milk and great temperament. We are proud to be part of the Brahman Society of SA and to help to improve the overall Brahman Breed.
